Description

The trip

Ride a variety of captivating landscapes, from the Mediterranean sea to lush vineyards to sleepy farmlands and beautiful coastal roads. Admire the history of the Borgia Family, at his Palace in Gandia. Feel the best taste of paella, local olive oil and fresh seafood like Mediterranean lobster and prawns. Visit a winery for an exclusive tasting and ride at the same places that pro riders do it.

Day by day breakdown

1

Simat - 49km 420m

To begin our adventure, we’ll leave Gandia Beach to recon ride. It’s a relaxed 49 km route that should give you plenty of time to get acclimatized and make sure that everything on your bike works perfectly. The highlight of the day will be the middle of the ride when you reach the Simat Climb and the scenic Xeraco Beach at the top.
2

Vall de Gallinera to Beniarres - 99km 1240m

We’re heading inland towards Vall de Gallinera, considered one of the main beautiful areas in Spain. Here there were still Iberian wolves and wild horses, and waterfalls and natural lagoons. After a flat opening 16 km, this ride hits a lengthy climb to the village of Al Patro. We’re going to enjoy a stunning view of the mountains that reach the sea. From there, we went up to Beniarrés and it’s all downhill until we get back to Gandia.
3

Vall d’Ebo to Forna - 77 km 830m

fter two days enjoying the west area we take direction to the south. First we climb one of the most iconic climbs in the area, Vall d’Ebo, where we can see the Mediterranean sea on one side and the west lands on the other. Later, we take direction to Forna, where, after a short climb, we made a coffee stop before coming back home.
4

Gandia to Xalò - 45km 440m

We’re leaving the sea behind us and heading towards the interior of Alicante, through an area characterized by its Arabic architecture and dominated by the almond and grape lands. Our scenic route gets a little lumpy in the middle so expect some testing climbs. There will also be plenty of views of the mountains.
5

Coll de Rates & Confrides - 110km 2100m

Today our itinerary arrives at the queen stage, when we ride the highest mountain road, where Pogacar, VanderPoel or Remco do their specific sessions. During all day we see fantastic villages and lands. The longest climb is here, Confrides, 20 km to enjoy.
6

Bernia to Calp - 60km 950m

On our last day, we’ll ride following the sea. We start climbing Bernia, we can see spectacular views at the top, following a long easy descent we will arrive at Calpe, where many riders established their houses during winter. After good coffee we return to Xalò to prepare our fantastic evening.
7

Drop Off - Valencia Airport

This is our final morning together and after a leisurely breakfast, it will be time to say goodbye, until we meet again. Transfers to the airport will be arranged by our hard-working crew but if you’re planning on staying a few extra days, let us know if we can help with reservations or a few recommendations.

BIKES TO RIDE LIKE A PRO

TCR ADVANCED PRO Di2

Giant TCR Advanced

With a perfect stiffness-to-weight ratio and aerodynamic tube shapes, this frame set is designed for racing cyclists who demand climbing characteristics, aerodynamic efficiency and stiffness for sprinting.

This is the biggest quantifiable advantage of the TCR.

Integrated disc brakes provide smooth, powerful and measured stopping power for added control in changing weather and road conditions. New Shimano di2 12 speed, Flat mounts and new thru-axles increase stiffness and improve overall handling, while extra clearance in the frame and fork allows for wider tires up to 32 millimeters to run.

Accomodation

The RH Bayren & Spa Hotel in Gandía is located on the first line, next to the seafront. From the hotel you can enjoy the fantastic sunrises, commerce and night life. The hotel has a Spa where you can enjoy a wide range of services and a wide range of treatments and massages.

At the hotel you will find two outdoor pools, a whirlpool with bubble beds and a solarium with sun beds.

On the highest floor of the hotel is the ‘Moon lounge’ where you can relax and enjoy cocktails on the best terrace on Gandía Beach.

Situated on a beautiful 10,500 sqm plot, Cuatre Finques is a unique, family owned Spanish-style finca which opened in May 2014. Creating Cuatre Finques was the making of a dream for Nicky for which she worked so hard. Her vision was to create a beautiful place to relax, a home away from home with personal service, attention to every detail, where guests can enjoy tranquil real Spain in the town of Xaló.
